graduation celebration
This past weekend Jennifer and I graduated with our Masters degrees. I know it is hard to do, but I found a way to cram 3 years of seminary into 5 1/2. The fam was in town for the event, including Dad, who barely made it by flying in the night before from Syria.
When I first started this journey in 2002, I knew a lot. Now I realize that the more I learned, the less I know. Before I left for Wilmore almost six years ago, someone at my church back in Texas pulled me aside and, in all sincerity, gave me this warning: "Don't let theology destroy your faith."
Well, I can safely report that the theology I studied here didn't destroy my faith... it saved it. But more on that another time. Today I am heading out to New York City for what has become my bi-annual trip to visit my little brother Ramsey and cousin Ali. They couldn't make it for graduation, so I'm taking the celebration to them.
We'll try to update from the Big Apple. Until then... Salaam, Shalom, Peace.

I love it when you post...
Congratulations Omar.
Cramming three years of seminary into five and a half years doesn't quite do your journey justice.
I'm anxious to hear about your transition to life after ATS...keep us all posted.
