"Is there no savior for our hopeless world? Concerned with political interests, our leaders have lost the trust of honest people to mediate a just and lasting peace. They mouth religion but have no honest trust in the divine. They cannot be the savior; they are the problem. In their mouths they say, “In God we trust.” But their hearts insist, “In God we cannot trust. We will be God. We will save the world. We will rid the world of evil.” What atheists express in words, our leaders second by their actions."

Fascinating blog, Omar. Thanks for openly sharing your unique perspective: it's a blessing. The design looks great, too - brilliant way to set up the two portions that make You.
Be blessed - Bitty
I love the Merton quote. As N. T. Wright reminds us, the line between good and evil is never simply between 'us' and 'them', that line runs through every individual and every society. As followers of Christ, we must remember that not only are we the people of the problem but we are also called to be a people of the solution.
Lord have mercy indeed.
