we have a pulse

The rumors of a First Born death have been greatly exaggerated.

Since our last post in May we had three major "life changers."

First, I was promoted to the position of Executive Director at the University of Arkansas Wesley Foundation. Not a big fan of the title (sounds pretty corporate), but do love the job. This wasn't part of the plan when we moved here, but we are thankful. Of course, the responsibility factor grew exponentially overnight, and so that is where most of my time has gone.

Second, we bought our first house. Never a small deal. After a dozen years living in apartments, it is nice to finally have a back yard. Of course a house means I have to start mowing again for the first time since high school, but yard work can be therapy. We're still unpacking and getting ready to paint a room for...

... our third big bit o' news: We're having our first baby! Our daughter Sadie will be here in the new year. Jenn said we had to have our first baby before I turned 36. Well, Sadie is due January 24, and I turn 36 on January 28. Those of you who know me can testify that I always seem to leave things till the last minute :)

As you can see by her pic, Sadie is letting us know everything is going o.k. ("Calm down Daddy... we're all good. Now get out of my womb"). And as you can probably tell, life has been a whirlwind around here, and so writing has slipped a lot. But we have a pulse, and we're getting back in business.

So tell your friends and come back and see us. First Born Son is back on the radar, there is a lot to talk about, and we have a long way to go and a short time to get there.

Pray for us.
